It’s that time of the year again! Another great costume for our Leixlip steed.
The steed in question is the metal horse on the Kilmacredock Roumdabout and is a sculpture by Offaly artist Declan Delaney. It has graced this location since 2014, when it was purchased and installed by Leixlip Tidy Towns Association. Tony O’Sullivan (Treasurer) says, ‘The horse is made from recycled horseshoes and we’re very proud to have it in our town. Decorating it started a few years ago when we put Santa Claus on the horse for Christmas. Passers-by seemed to enjoy it and children were stopping to have a look. We decided to decorate it for St. Patrick’s Day, Easter and Halloween too. We look forward to those occasions every year’.
Enjoy Halloween / Samhain to mark the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter.
